AXA XL confirmed as Silver Sponsor for 2023
We are beyond thrilled to welcome AXA XL as a Silver Sponsor for 2023.
The sponsorship is effective until the end of 2023.
Inclusion and Diversity is a strategic business priority for AXA XL and they have recently released their Ethnicity Pay Gap Report (you can read their 2021 Ethnicity Pay Gap Report here) for the second year in a row and we are very happy to be working with a forward-thinking organisation.
AXA XL also value their colleague-led Business Resource Groups, who play a critical role in driving their diverse culture. One of the co-founders of the RISE Network in the UK, Bal Mahil, Head of Distribution Operations at AXA XL, is also on the iCAN committee as the iCANConnect Lead and she has been able to support all Ethnic Minority Business Resource Groups across the industry through her leadership of the iCAN Connect sessions.
More about AXA XL

The sponsorship
AXA XL’s sponsorship will support a wide range of iCAN’s ongoing and newly launched initiatives for 2023. The initiatives include our INspire self-service mentoring platform and iCANConnect, a safe space for D&I leaders across the insurance industry, as well as our newly launched iCANApply Jobs Board which aims to give more access for our members to opportunities within the insurance industry.
In addition to these three main initiatives, the sponsorship will support the continuation of the iCANVoice Podcast, Coffee with the CEO series, and a range of virtual and in-person events for the 3,500+ members based in the UK and internationally.
Luis Prato – Chief Underwriting Officer, UK & Lloyd’s, commented:
“Diversifying our workforce and driving an inclusive culture is a strategic priority for AXA XL, which is why we’re delighted to collaborate with The Insurance Cultural Awareness Network (iCAN) on this sponsorship. Creating a workforce that is truly reflective of the communities and clients that we serve enables our colleagues to thrive and allows us to better understand and respond to clients’ distinct challenges and opportunities and build deeper relationships.”
Bal Mahil – Head of Distributions Operations, UK & Lloyd’s said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for AXA XL in the UK to share knowledge and collaborate on best practices with iCAN and the wider industry as we continue to drive impactful, tangible change together.”
