iCAN Expands to New York: A Successful First Event!
The Insurance Cultural Awareness Network (iCAN) recently celebrated a significant milestone—our first event in New York City!
Hosted graciously by our friends at Beazley, this event marks an exciting step forward as we bring iCAN’s mission across the Atlantic, following our successful expansions within the UK in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Bristol.
Our New York debut provided an opportunity to introduce the iCAN Model, which focuses on several pillars of support: Mentoring (iCAN INspire), Recruitment (iCAN Apply - The Insurance Cultural Awareness Network Jobs Board), Employee Resource Group support (iCAN Connect), and Networking Events.
We’re thrilled to connect with new allies and share our commitment to DEI in the insurance sector with the New York community.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to strengthen our partnerships with over 50 sponsors in the U.S. in the coming year, expanding our impact and network further.
A special congratulations to our friend Lee H. V., Founder of MRIA - Multicultural (Re)Insurance Association, who received the prestigious Alonzo Herndon Award at the Business Insurance Conference. This recognition underscores the value of cultural inclusion and the ongoing progress in our industry.
Our sincere gratitude goes to Chantelle Davis, Beth Diamond, Munira Hirji, Troy Dehmann, and the entire Beazley team for their support in making this event a reality.
We look forward to sharing our plans for 2025 soon!
