iCAN Connect with Aviva

Next week’s iCANConnect session on Fri 7 May, to kick-off Mental Health Awareness Month, we have a special session with Dr Subashini M, the Associate Medical Director of Aviva who will be hosting a session entitled “Distribution, differentiation and integration: the maths of mental health”.

Mental health, like wealth, is not evenly distributed. There are stark statistics on health inequalities, such as the fact that in the year to March 2020, Black people are 4 times as likely to be detained under the Mental Health Act. Different communities have different experiences of mental health and of treatment. The aim of this talk is to shine a light on the existing inequalities, the difference within the ethnic minority populations and act as a primer for a discussion on working to a solution in the workplace.
