Gold Sponsor Marsh McLennan’s new Talent programme for Black MBA Students

iCAN are excited to present a new Talent programme for Black MBA students from one of our Gold Sponsors, Marsh!

Marsh Multicultural Network Co-Char Marcia McFarlane and Talent Acquisition Team Leader Debra Brown tell us:

We are really excited to inform you about Marsh McLennan Companies (MMC’s) Racial Inclusion and Social Equity (RISE) Fellowship program, created in partnership with Fisk University. RISE, designed to provide Black MBA candidates and graduates with business knowledge and tools to advocate for social justice in a business environment, is entering its second year.

The MMC RISE Programme will provide an engaging business acumen and social justice curriculum, leadership development, and exposure to the Marsh McLennan enterprise, leaders, and a vast array of opportunities for successful participants to explore future career opportunities within our company.

The 8-month programme (6-8 hours per month) includes scheduled workshops focused on leadership development and social justice instruction and covers an enriching curriculum of practical business knowledge and social justice instruction and as a part of the programme, individuals will have exposure to the Marsh McLennan enterprise, leaders, and a vast array of opportunities to explore future career opportunities within Marsh McLennan.

Joining the RISE programme will provide you with career development opportunities and in turn we will count on you to:

  • Aspire to grow professionally and personally while expanding leadership skills, contributing with authenticity, and demonstrating active and consistent engagement

  • Desire to increase a sense of belonging through active participation and attending key components of the program

  • Navigate a career transition to full-time employment with Marsh McLennan during or upon completion of the RISE program (see current RISE job roles here) Racial Inclusion & Social Equity (RISE) MBA Fellow jobs

What the candidates will need to have:

  • MBA anticipated graduation date of 2023; Transcript to be submitted

  • Engagement in extra-curricular activities such as volunteering, sporting teams, and/or community initiatives

  • Corporate work experience preferred, but not required

  • Must identify as Afro Caribbean or Afro Caribbean Mixed Heritage

  • Intention to join Marsh McLennan full-time during or upon completion of the RISE program

  • Successful completion of the Marsh McLennan recruitment process
